CampusNet
What is CampusNet?
The University has implemented a Virtual Private Network (CampusNet) at the University in order for staff and students to connect their own computers and mobile devices to our network. CampusNet was created as a security measure, as it enables the University control over which people and computers can access the University’s network, and resources on it. Only individuals who have a current University user id and password may connect to the network via CampusNet.
Why do I need to install software?
Staff and students must install the CampusNet software in order to maintain the security of the University's network.
This degree of security is necessary to:
- reduce the risk to all users from viruses and other malicious programs
- ensure compliance with licensing conditions for software and electronic reference materials
- identify individuals who misuse network resources
- prevent access to resources by individuals who are not entitled to use them
How do I install Campusnet?
In order for staff and students to use CampusNet, your computer needs to be correctly configured. Please select your location from the tabs above to find out how to connect to CampusNet. Alternatively select the option below.
I want to connect to CampusNet from:
- My room in a halls of residence
- One of the University buildings using wireless or a spare socket
- My home
- My mobile device (IPhone etc)
