Doing Research

Find Journals

A journal (also known as periodical or serial) is a printed or electronic publication containing articles which is published regularly and in separate parts. Journals contain the latest research on a topic.

Finding journals the library has

  • Search the Library Catalogue, enter the title of the journal in the search box and select Journals
  • The catalogue includes paper and electronic journal titles and the years we have access to
  • If a journal title is not included in the catalogue - see: Journal not available

If you are only interested in which electronic journals the library has access to:

The Library's E-journal Gateway provides a list of the electronic journals that the library has access to.  The list can be searched by journal title, words that appear in the title, ISSN and also by subject category.

From the E-journal Gateway you can link to the full text of the journal. Make sure before you link to check the dates the journal is available electronically, since all volumes and years of a journal may not be available in electronic form.

If you don't find the journal, or year, you are looking for in the Gateway it is worth checking the library catalogue, as we may have it in print.
